Grommets are generally flared or collared on each side to keep them in place and are often made of metal, plastic or rubber. They may be used to prevent tearing or abrasion of the pierced material or protection from abrasion of the insulation on the wire, cable, line being routed through the penetration and to cover sharp edges of the piercing, or all of the above.

Split cable entry systems for cables with connectors

We offer modular cable entry solutions for entering pre-terminated cables, special-shaped cables, and large amounts of cables in confined spaces.

Our main partner for cable entry systems is Icotek, highly innovative leader in cable entry solutions. 

The basic product group is cable entry system KEL for entering cables with connectors and sealing ready – connected applications. It consists of a split frame and several slit cable grommets. During the assembly, the slit grommet matching the cable diameter is placed around the cable and inserted into the frame. The grommet is now securely fixed inside the frame and cannot fall out. Once the lid is fixed to the base frame, it is compressed and tightly sealed. The high compression pressure ensures strain relief according to EN 62444 and certified sealing rates up to IP66.

The Icotek cable entry systems comply with important approvals and standards like flame class UL94-V0, IP rated protection, UL, NEMA, German Lloyd, ECOLAB detergent resistance or the European railway standard EN 45545-2 for fire safety and are therefore suitable for various industries.

Cable entry plates for cables without connectors

Our main partners for cable entry systems are SES Sterling and Icotek.

With the membrane - based cable entry plates, standard cables with diameters from 1,5 to 22 mm can be quickly routed into control cabinets, panels or machines and be sealed with certified protection class up to IP68.

In comparison to traditional solutions such as standard cable glands the cable density is greatly increased. This, combined with a reduction of required space make the Icotek solution a great choice.

The cable entry plates consist of a robust hard frame made of plastic or metal which is completely moulded with elastomer. At the plate front there are pierceable membranes for various cable diameters, on the back there are conical cable sleeves to ensure a double sealing of the cables. This unique grommet design also provides a good strain relief.

The assembly of the cable entry plates can be done within seconds. Simply put a small slit into the thin membrane and push the cable through.

Cable entry frames and plates with fire penetration seals

Cable entry frames with fire penetration seals meet the standards EN 45545-2, EN 45545-3 and EN 1363-1. The intumescent (foaming) IFSP fire penetration seals create a barrier which prevents a penetration of flames and high heat from one room into another for the longest possible period.

They are distinguished mainly by:

  • easy assembly,

  • high cable density,

  • ingress protection up to IP66 / UL Type 4X

  • large product variety.

Syntec® facade and window feedthrough

Manufacturer Agro AG developed an innovative solution for modern facade feedthrough. They enable quick installation and passage of cables through the external walls of buildings. At the same time, they ensure adequate sealing and prevent the formation of thermal bridges.

The use of Syntec® facade feedthrough  enables electrical equipment (window blinds and shades, lighting and monitoring systems, sensors of any sort) to be easily connected to the building’s internal cable network without heat loss or moisture intrusion. Since they are combined with protective pipes, the length of the passage is arbitrary.
